Taylor & George are one of the most vibrant and playful couples I've ever had the chance of photographing. Their wedding day felt incredibly warm and friendly, like I was just another friend hanging out with them on a normal day...
The May morning started with the most perfect weather, just a little overcast with the sun peaking through clouds here and there. Everything was held at Heartwood Hall which made it convenient. Straight to hair and makeup for the girls (done by Candice Riels and Kasey Acuff). The guys always have it SO easy and relaxed watching movies in the Groom's Quarters. Everyone was realxed, calm, and actually ahead of our photo schedule!
Taylor & George opted not to do a first look, which I love! This is one old-fashioned tradition that I'm still a fan of. I love anticipating the walk down the aisle and nervously waiting it out along with the groom. George was able to hold it together but I know all the parents were teary-eyed. Who wouldn't be watching these two come together to start their own family and their own story?!
The ceremony setting was bright and airy, with white garden chairs, rose petals lining the aisle, and an amazing arch created by Lynn Doyle. Sometimes I wish I could get married again just to choose flowers all over for fun. Taylor's veil was her something old and borrowed; her mom wore it on her wedding day too. It had tiny fabric flowers that accentuated Taylor's soft blooms that were used in all the arrangements.
The vows were short but definitely sweet! You just can't fake the love that was swarming around this couple. We did our posed family photos right after the ceremony and sent the guests on to the barn reception. I always like to give my couples a breather after the ceremony, a chance to say "OMG we just did it!! We're officially husband and wife." I really tried to create those little breaks so that Taylor & George would enjoy their day and remember it. Wedding day flies by so quickly if you're caught up in a rush.
Inside the barn, dinner was served and the DJ started up. And can I mention BOTH the cakes?! They were amazing and made by Lee Sanders. Heartwood Hall provided the catering and everyone talked while enjoying a family meal. These wedding guests and family were some of the friendliest I've ever been around. People were just in a great mood celebrating, dancing, and toasting to the new Mr. & Mrs.
Taylor & George- y'all are an amazing couple, with amazing smiles, and an amazing support system! Thank you for including me in your wedding day and best wishes forever! Y'all deserve it :)
